Solid surface materials are typically made of acrylic polymers and stone-derived materials. Manufactured in the form of sheets, solid surfaces can be cut, drilled, curved or molded in many different ways. Because it is seamless (seams are only visible from the underside of the surface), there is no place for dirt accumulate. In general, solid surfaces can withstand staining and scratches are easily buffed out.
Care and Cleaning Solid surfaces are nonporous, easy to clean and require no sealing. Because solid surfaces are nonporous, stains are not able to penetrate the surface. Any marks or scratches are easily buffed out to make solid surfaces look new. Solid surfaces are not heat resistant so high heat or flame will damage them. Acidic foods and liquids will not damage solid surfaces.
Finishes Solid surfaces have three different types of finish: matte, semigloss and high-gloss. Each finish has different attributes and recommended uses.
Edges Solid surfaces can be fabricated with a variety of edge treatments. View sample edge treatments.
The first solid surface, Corian, was created by DuPont over 30 years ago. Today, there are several different manufacturers of solid surfaces. Accent Marble & Granite is an authorized fabricator and installer for the following manufacturers:
Corian Corian is backed by a 10-year limited product warranty. And, when installed by a DuPont certified fabricator, the entire job is warranted for 10 years against fabrication defects.

Avonite When installed by a certified fabricator, Avonite offers a 15-year warranty.
LG HI-MACS LG HI-MACS offers a 15-year, fully transferable warranty. LG HI-MACS will replace or repair, free of charge, any solid surfacing material that fails due to any manufacturing defect.
